You can still be anyone
The Story of Pocnote: Notes Can Heal You
A rainy afternoon in a quiet café can change everything
The Beginning
In this fast-paced era, where information is overwhelming and false content abounds, I seek to reclaim a measure of sincerity and tranquility.
A Journey Through Darkness
Two years ago, I found myself ensnared by the pressures of work and the hurdles of entrepreneurship:
- Mental strain
- Anxiety
- Insomnia
During that tumultuous time, I felt despondent and devoid of hope, often unable to find rest until the early hours of the morning.
The Turning Point
I am grateful for that rainy afternoon when I stumbled into an empty café, where I began to indulge in profound reading and writing.
I turned off my phone and commenced writing notes, allowing myself to pose significant questions. I penned two journal entries:
- "The Life I Wish to Lead in the Next Decade"
- "Ten Questions I Pose to Myself"
This exercise illuminated my aspirations for the life I yearn to pursue. In that afternoon of writing, time seemed to dissolve; I experienced three long-lost hours, reclaiming my sense of tranquility and gaining clarity on my next steps.
The Power of Writing
From that moment onward, I dedicated two hours each week to solitude, engaging with myself through writing, a practice that invigorated my spirit. Reflecting on those moments now, the transformation brought about by that experience of writing notes is invaluable.
Reading is a precious gift that brings tranquility
Reading: A Universal Language
This world is incredibly complex, yet it is fascinating and almost magical that certain hobbies unite multiple tribes, nations, and cultures as shared passions. Reading is one such practice that can bring people across the world into a state of tranquility—without explanation, simply picking up a book naturally guides us into that peaceful mindset.
From Fragments to the Tree of Thought
Connection is the foundation of learning; contemplation is the breath of the soul.
For a considerable time, I have been an avid reader, dedicating at least half an hour each day to this pursuit for nearly a decade. I often read two to three books concurrently, switching from one to another when my focus wanes. This alternating approach has kept my thoughts vibrant and diminished feelings of boredom.
The Birth of Pocnote
The Problem
In my youthful days, I attempted to maintain handwritten notes, but they were lost to time. I explored various note-taking products:
- Evernote
- Google Keep
- Notion
Each had its merits, but they all felt mechanical—mere recording tools devoid of warmth.
The Solution
In Pocnote, I seek a balance:
- Between brief notes and lengthy articles
- Not merely fragments, but connected thoughts
- Simple yet harmonious with human nature
Good notes should be simple and attuned to human nature. Notes can both distill and heal the soul.
Beyond Efficiency
Creating products that genuinely resonate
In a market flooded with efficiency-focused products, I aspire to create one that imparts energy. While efficiency is undoubtedly important, what is even scarcer in this era is value itself, and it is you who creates that value.
The AI Question
If there is one aspect I hope technology never replaces, it is the ability of individuals to express themselves freely and to write. At Pocnote:
- AI enhances tedious tasks
- Helps with translations and formatting
- Never generates content on your behalf
- Never restricts your expression
